Miss Jenni Byrom is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with over 20 years in the field, renowned for her expertise in Gynaecological Oncology. Her distinguished career focuses on critical areas such as colposcopy and the management of vulval diseases, including vulval pain.

Since the beginning of her career, Miss Byrom has been dedicated to advancing the field of Gynaecological Oncology. Her particular interest in colposcopy—a key diagnostic tool for evaluating cervical abnormalities—has driven her commitment to excellence. She completed her specialised training in colposcopy in 2000 and achieved re-accreditation in September 2022, underscoring her ongoing dedication to this vital area of gynaecological care.

In 2012, Miss Byrom was appointed as the lead clinician at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, a role in which she has continued to excel. Her contributions to the hospital are significant, particularly in her leadership in managing colposcopy services and treating vulval diseases. As the Clinical Service Planning Lead for Colposcopy and Vulval conditions, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the service’s approach to these complex and sensitive issues.

One of the highlights of her work is her management of the specialist Vulval Pain Clinic at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. This clinic addresses a range of vulval conditions, with a particular focus on vulval pain—a challenging and often debilitating issue for many patients. Miss Byrom’s approach combines her extensive clinical knowledge with a compassionate and patient-centred ethos, ensuring that those suffering from vulval pain receive the highest standard of care.

Miss Byrom’s exceptional communication skills are central to her practice. Research & Publications

After completing his Senior House Officer training Mr Simon Radley undertook a period of research into colorectal cancer and submitted a thesis for which he was awarded an MD by the University of Birmingham.

He has published widely on colorectal disease and in particular functional bowel disorders. He has written several book chapters.
